Use it to read the actual wiring configuration for Cat5, coaxial and modular telephone cables by comparing one transmitting end to another receiving end. Easy verification for cabling faults including discontinuity, open wires, shorts, miswiring and crossed pairs is quickly detected with the LANtest\'s unique LED display. Can also test the grounding. Perform all the above tests on installed cables with the included remote terminator. Tests the correct pin configuration of 10Base-T, 10Base-2, Thin Ethernet cable, RJ45/RJ11 modular cables 356A, TIA-568A/568B and Token Ring cable, etc. With the remote kit, LANtest can remotely test cable up to 1000 feet away either on the wall plate or the patch panel. Includes an auto or manual scan for pinout indicators, and a power switch for saving battery power.
